BREAUX BRIDGE, LA—November 20, 2015—Robicheaux Ranch, Inc. announced today that multiple graded stakes winner Open Me A Corona's fee has been set at $3,000, with consideration. He will stand his first season in 2016 at their farm near Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.
Owned-and-raced by Charles Forbes, Jr. and Dr. Tommy Hays, Open Me A Corona won his seventh career stakes on Saturday night, the $50,000 Opelousas Stakes (see related story) at Evangeline Downs. He has won 11 of 13 career starts career starts and earned $696,298.
His other six stakes wins are the $1 million LQHBA Breeders' Futurity(RG1), Louisiana Classic Stakes(RG2), Vals Fortune Stakes(RG2), John Alleman Memorial Stakes(RG3), Gentilly Dash Stakes, Mr Jess Perry Stakes-twice. He was also a finalist in the Delta Downs LA Bred Derby(RG2), LQHBA Laddie Futurity(RG2), etc.
Open Me A Corona is out of the multiple stakes producing Mr Eye Opener mare In The Open, dam of 6 ROM (100%). She is also the dam of RG3 placed Im Jess Blue SI 98 ($102,909 to 4, 2015), G3 placed Surf N Turf Dude SI 93 ($69,021), and Openme Anothercorona ($25,500 at 2, 2015).
Ocean Memories is a half sister to RG3 winner Harbor Beach SI 111 ($129,371), G1-placed First Down N Surfin SI 97 ($290,681), stakes-placed Igofast-TB S ($143,043), G2-plalced Runaway Wave SI 105 ($79,183, Broodmare of the Year), G2-placed Capitan Nuevo SI 95 ($56,539), etc. This is the immediate family of world champion and multiple stakes sire Wave Carver and champion and champion sire Ocean Runaway.
