MJ Farms Sets Stud Fees for Strong Roster

VEGUITA, NM—NOVEMBER 14, 2018—MJ Farms has set the 2019 stud fees for its strong roster of sires: 2018 leading third crop sire of money earners Big Daddy Cartel, 2018 top-ten leading sire of money earners Jesses James Jr, leading New Mexico sire Woodbridge, plus the introduction of the new first-year sire Eye Am King.

Leading third-crop sire Big Daddy Cartel will again stand for a fee of $5,000. Breeders who book their mares by February 15, 2019 can enjoy $1,000 discount of $4,000.

Big Daddy Cartel, a son of leading living sire Corona Cartel, led the 2018 third-crop sire's list with 47 winners, 4 stakes winners and earners of $1.8 million, through November 13. In only three crops to race he has sired 18 stakes horses, over $4 million earners with more than $22,700 average earnings per starter.

Through November 13, Jesse James Jr is the #10 Leading Sire of Money Earners for 2018 with 76 winners, 4 stakes winners and $2.1 million earners. His fee will remain $3,000, frozen semen only.

The son of Mr Jess Perry has sired 70 stakes horses, $16.4 million in earnings and has average earnings per starter of over $31,300.

Multiple stakes sire Woodbridge is the leading son of Dash Ta Fame standing at stud. His 2019 fee will remain $2,500 and breeders can enjoy a $500 discount to $2,000 if booked by February 15.

From a limited number of starters in 2018, Woodbridge has sired 15 winners, 10% stakes horses, earners of over $535,000. His 2018 crop includes New Mexico Classic Futurity(RG2) winner Woodys Copy Cat SI 97 (3 wins at 2, $240,728).

In 13 crops to race Woodbridge has sired 16% stakes horses, earners of $3.3 million with average earnings of nearly $26,000 per starter.

Earlier this year MJ Farms' announced they had repurchased the $300,000 2016 Ruidoso Select Sale topper Eye Am King. The son of Mr Jess Perry will stand for an introductory fee of $2,500. Breeders who book by February 15th will enjoy a discount to $1,500.

Eye Am King's dam Eye For Corona, by Corona Cartel, is a Grade 1 winner of $1.1 million including the Golden State Million Futurity. She is the dam of 8 ROM winners and three black type including stakes winner Dr Jess (a full sibling to Eye Am King), stakes winner Ultimate Wave ($27,846), stakes-placed and Grade 1 finalist Eye For Fdd ($50,363), etc.

The second dam is the G1-placed stakes producing Mr Eye Opener mare Eye For The Sixes S ($63,280), a half-sister to Texas Classic Derby(G1) winner and multiple stakes sire Sixes Royal ($384,977), etc.
