MENIFEE, CA—NOVEMBER 28, 2018—Burns Ranch, near Menifee, California, has set the 2019 stud fees for its strong roster of stallions that include Grade 1 sires Favorite Cartel, Foose and Walk Thru Fire.
Grade 1 winner and multiple Grade 1 sire Favorite Cartel will stand for an advertised fee of $10,000. Led by Governor's Cup Futurity(G2) winner Powerful Favorite ($226,340), the current #8 Leading Sire of Money Earners in 2018 has sired 101 winners, 14 stakes winners with earnings of $2.53 million this year to date.
From four crops to race the son of former Thoroughbred Horse of Year Favorite Trick (TB) is the sire of 210 winners (61%), 59 stakes horses (17%), earners of $8.2 million and average earnings per starter in excess of $24,000.
Favorite Cartel's leading performers include Golden State Million Futurity (G1) winner Lotta Blues Man SI 104 ($934,534 to 4, 2018), Golden State Million Futurity (G1) winner Little Talks SI 94 ($563,897), Golden State Derby(G1) winner Rite Regal SI 97 ($563,897 to 5, 2018), Go Man Go Handicap(G1) winner Tarzanito SI 102 ($359,683 to 4, 2018), etc.
AQHA Racing Champion Foose will stand for a 2019 fee of $3,500. The son of Stel Corona is the sire of current 2-year-old Ali Babe Foose, the fastest qualifier for the $1.87 million Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity(G1 finals to be run December 16). From six crops to race, Foose is the sire of 244 winners (70%), 72 stakes horses (21%), earners of over $10 million and average earnings per starter of $28,743.
Among his top performers are Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity (G1) winner Foose Cash Sr SI 96 ($1,235,544 to 4, 2018), Ruidoso Derby(G1) winner Rock You SI 102 ($790,325 to 5, 2018), Southern California Derby(G1) winner Forget It SI 96 ($595,089), G1-placed Katella Deli SI 97 (E496,637), etc.
Two-time world champion sire Walk Thru Fire's 2019 fee will remain Private Treaty. The son of all-time leading sire First Down Dash is the sire of 73 stakes winners, 8 champions, with earnings of more than $35.5 million. His top performers include Heza Dasha Fire SI 105 (world champion, $2,217,987 to 6, 2018), Last To Fire SI 105 ($1,145,254), Higher Fire Si 103 ($1,314,742), Grade 1 winner Walk Thru Crystal SI 95 ($675,855), etc.
Two-time AQHA Racing Champion sire Stel Corona will stand for a fee of $3,000 in 2019. From 11 crops to race the son of leading sire Corona Cartel has sired 264 winners(62%), 65 stakes horses (16%), earners of $10.2 million and average earnings per starter of more than $24,100. PCQHRA Breeders' Cup Futurity(G2) winner Cole Man 47 SI 95 (3 wins at 2, 2018 $195,714) is his leading money earner in 2018.
Stel Corona's top performers include Champion Foose SI 102 ($1,616,938), Champion Quirky SI 92 ($424,098), Multiple stakes winner Tortuga Tony SI 117 ($253,117) stakes winner and G1-placed Unchangeable SI 93 ($220,710 to 4, 2018), etc.
First-crop stakes sire Jess Being Valiant SI 94 will again stand for a fee of $1,500 in 2018. The stakes winning and G1-placed son of Valiant Hero is the sire of 100% winners from only two starters to date in 2018 that include the PCQHRA Breeders' Futurity(G2) runner-up Jess Bein Me SI 90 (to wins at 2, 2018 $75,720).
Grade 3 multiple stakes winner Separate Interest SI 98 will again stand for $2,500 in 2019. The #4 leading first-crop sale sire of yearlings in 2018 (43 yearlings averaged $16,460) will have his first crop hit the racetracks in 2019. The son of champion and leading sire Separatist won or placed in 16 races and earned $486,761.
Stakes winner and G2-placed Fly Thru The Fire will stand his second season for a fee of $2,500. The son of champion sire Walk Thru Fire is out of the "Blue Hen" Grade 1 winning Strawfly Special mare Babe On The Fly SI 101 ($246,111), dam of 23 winners, 12 black type including Grade 1 winners Rock You SI 102 ($479,325, Ruidoso Derby-G1, etc.) and Little Talks SI 94 ($563,897, Golden State Million Futurity-G1, etc.).
