WHEELOCK, TX—DECEMBER 4, 2018—Grade 2 winner and G1-placed This Is An Eagle SI 103 has been retired and will stand the upcoming breeding season at Granada Farms near Wheelock, Texas for an advertised fee of $1,000.
Bred by Pete Scarmardo, This Is An Eagle topped the 2016 TQHA Yearling Sale for $100,000 when he was purchased by owner Mary Lynn Thompson. Trained by Leon Bard, the 3-year-old son of leading sire One Famous Eagle captured the 2017 Grade 2 $483,600 Sam Houston Futurity in his second career start.

In four starts at 3, This Is An Eagle won his trial and qualified for the Grade 3 $191,900 Sam Houston Derby. In two years at the track the sorrel colt won or placed in eight of 12 career starts and earned $316,360.
His sire, champion One Famous Eagle SI 101 ($1,387,453), has sired 61 stakes winners, 5 champions and 3 All American Futurity(G1) winners and earners of nearly $27 million in only seven crops to race.
