Grade 1 Winner and Sire Agouti Dead at 22

VINTON, LA—APRIL 13, 2021—Delta Equine Center reported today their Grade 1 sire Agouti has been euthanized due to the onset of old age and effects of laminitis. He was 22-years-old.

"He was a great old horse to the end," said Farm Manager Caleb Findley. "He continued to put out quality runners year-after-year in the Quarter Horse industry, and especially in Louisiana. Owned by a syndicate, Agouti has sired 15 crops to reach racing age, 187 winners (61%), 29 stakes horses (10%), earners of over $6.24 million with average earnings per starter in excess of $20,400.
