First Crop Sire Fine Oak Corona Dies

HOBBS, NM—JULY 1, 2021—Mountain State Equine reported today that Grade 1-placed Fine Oak Corona died June 21st from complications to colic. His first foal crop are 2-year-olds this year.

Jose Sanchez owned the son Corona Prospect from the Oak Tree Special mare Like A Fine Oak.

Trained by Paul Jones, Fine Oak Corona won or placed in eight races and earned $227,312. He was second in the Ruidoso Futurity(G1) and a finalist in the Rainbow Futurity(G1), West Texas Futurity(G2), West Texas Maturity(G1), Lovington Stakes(G2) and All American Juvenile.

Victor H. Sanchez bred the 8-year-old stallion in Oklahoma.
