Kindergarten Winner Makes the Grade in Rankings

Q-RACING JOURNAL—MAY 22, 2013—A victory in Sunday’s $281,100 Kindergarten Futurity (G2) at Los Alamitos rocketed the filly Glitter In My Face all the way to No. 3 in this week’s AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com National Top 10 rankings for 2-year-olds. Now unbeaten in three lifetime starts, the daughter of Special Cartel was the big mover in this week’s balloting.

The juvenile poll continues to be led by Especially Tres and WR Golden Eagle, winners of the Sam Houston Futurity (G2) and West Texas Futurity (G1), respectively.

Meanwhile, unanimous No. 1-ranked Rylees Boy continues to pace the poll for the older horses, with all 100 points again this week. The poll’s biggest mover was Brace For Bernal, a four-time meet winner at Remington Park, who continued to pick up steam with balloters while advancing two spots this week to No. 6. The poll for elders could see some action this weekend when No. 2-ranked PJ Chick In Black returns in trials for the Ruidoso Derby (G1).
