Deja Vu in National Rankings

AMERICAN QUARTER HORSE ASSOCIATION, APRIL 9, 2014—If it sounds familiar, it should. Feature Mr Who captured Sunday’s Bank of America Sunland Championship Challenge (G2) and debuts this week at No. 7 in the AQHA Racing-Horseplayernow.com National Poll for older horses. The exact same scenario played out one year ago this week following his first victory in the Challenge event at Sunland, and subsequent No. 7 ranking.

Feature Mr Who was the only newcomer to the Top 10 this week. The 5-year-old Feature Mr Jess gelding notched his seventh lifetime win and first win in the 2014 season in his Sunland repeat bid. He pushed his lifetime earnings to $279,167.

Another familiar tone to this week's rankings is the stability at the top. The top six remained unchanged, paced by Los Alamitos Winter Championship (G1) heroine Nellie Delaney. She tallied 102 out of a possible 110 points in the balloting of national handicappers and media members.

The season’s first 2-year-old rankings will debut in three weeks on April 30.
