Hernandez Leads Aces Handicapping Week 3

Q-RACING JOURNAL—JULY 28, 2014—t was a tough go for the Racing Aces in Week 3 of the Racing Aces Summer Showdown Handicapping Contest.

The Aces, trying to boost their totals with some long shot selections, did not hit their mark in the Racing Aces Summer Showdown.

Racing Ace John Hernandez correctly selected Grey Daze ($5.60/4.00) in the TQHA Sale Futurity (RG2) and Foose Is Loose ($4.80) the runner-up in the Governor's Cup Derby (RG3) at Los Alamitos and scratched into a place payment of $2.40 in the Gordon Mobley Futurity at Indiana Grand to finish the week as the leader with $16.80, just .20 ahead of Ace Jen Perkins, who scored with Moonist ($4.60/$2.80) in the Governor’s Cup Derby and runner-up Micato ($6.80) in the Adequan Les Bois Derby Challenge.

Racing Aces Denis Blake, Martha Claussen, Jennifer Hancock, John Hernandez and Jen Perkins are competing for bragging rights in the Racing Aces Summer Showdown Handicapping Contest. The Ace with the highest win/place earnings will be honored as the weekly winner with the overall champion crowned at the culmination of the final weekend of the Summer Showdown.

This is the second week that Hernandez leads the pack, as he was a big winner last week. In Week 1, Blake earned top honors by parlaying his $20 total investment into a net score of $61.00. Now past the halfway mark, Hernandez leads the group with $155.60 back on $60 invested.
