TQHA Releases Final Yearling Sale Results

AUSTIN, TX—JULY 31, 2014—TQHA has released the final sale results for the just completed 17th annual Yearling Sale held July 25-26 in the Exposition Hall at The Freeman in San Antonio, Texas.

While cataloging 10% less horses in 2014 from the previous year, the sale enjoyed a 15% bump in gross sales. The 2014 sale saw 183 yearlings marked sold for $2,477,800 as compared to 209 yearlings who totaled $2,163,800 last year.

The average price was up a very strong 31% to $13,540 compared to $10,353 in 2013. The median got a 27% bump to $7,000 from $5,500 last year.

"TQHA is very pleased with the over-all sale and results this year," Val Clark, TQHA Executive Director, said this week.

The sale also broke the an All-Time High Selling record when Dan and Jolene Urschel purchased Yellow Rose B for $250,000 from consignor/breeder Bielau Oaks Ranch. The First Down Dash filly is out of the multiple stakes producing Mr Jess Perry mare Mon Ti Fluer.
