Q-RACING JOURNAL—DECEMBER 19, 2014—Rattle N Battle has been disqualified from his win in the October 11 Dash For Cash Futurity (G1) at Lone Star Park. Jess Walking Thru has been moved up to the win in the race.

Rattle N Battle was disqualified due to a Class 3 overage of clenbuterol found in post-race testing. It was the third violation in that classification within a year for trainer Brandon Muniz. The violations also included a clenbuterol overage for Rattle N Battle in that horse’s September 27 Dash For Cash Futurity trial race; and a Class 2 overage of Lidocaine and Hydroxylidocaine in the horse Time For Tebowing in a maiden race on October 18.

The $385,110 Dash For Cash Futurity (G1) victory now goes to Jess Walking Thru. She was trained by Mike Robbins and ridden by Jose Alvarez for owners Linda and Gary Gordon and Ross Roark of Roanoke, Texas. For the win, she earns $154,049.

She has now won three of eight career starts and her earnings now stand at $406,372. In her most recent start, she was third in the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity (G1).

Bred by Lance Robinson and Max Anderson of Spanish Fork, Utah, she is by leading sire Walk Thru Fire and out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Jess Sass Me. Her Grade 1-placed dam has also produced stakes winners Jess Being Valiant (by Valiant Hero, $191,735) and Valiant Jess (by Valiant Hero, $45,645). Jess Sass Me has six yearlings.

The complete order of finish for the Dash For Cash Futurity: Jess Walking Thru, Separate Dynasty, Great Grace, Jess Toast Winner, Corona Wild, Rare Legs, Corona Kelly, Absolut Power and Good Seis (who was scratched). Rattle N Battle is unplaced.

Rattle N Battle is owned by Sunset Well Service Inc. Muniz received 105 days cumulative suspension for the combined three positives, with consecutive terms beginning December 13 and ending March 27, as well as $4,000 in total fines.
