Funeral Services Conducted Sunday For Juanita Crone
DIGHTON, KS—MARCH 7, 2017—Juanita Crone, wife of longtime Kansas horsemen Gordon Crone was buried Sunday in Lakin, Kansas. She died Thursday, March 2, at the age of 92. Juanita was a resident of Dighton, Kansas at the time of her passing.
Graveside services were held at the Lakin Cemetery in Lakin.
Juanita was born on January 30, 1925. She attended grade school in North Kearny before graduating from Lakin High School in 1943.
She was married to Gordon Crone, an AQHA director from 1985 to 1992. The couple campaigned the champion Vespero in the late 70's and 80's. The son of St. Bar was named the AQHA Racing Champion 2-Year-Old Gelding in 1978.
Gordon, who preceded his wife in death in 1994, is honored by AQHA with the annual Gordon Crown Special Achievement Award.
