Indiana Grand Opens Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred Meet Tuesday

SHELBYVILLE, IN—APRIL 14, 2017—Indiana Grand Racetrack will open its 2017 Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse meet with a nine-race program on Tuesday.

Indiana Grand's opening-day card includes one Quarter Horse race, a 300-yard, $16,000 dash for Indiana-bred maiden 3, 4, and 5-year-olds. Post time for the first race is set for 2:05 p.m. (EDT).

Indiana Grand's Quarter Horse stakes schedule features 19 stakes, starting with the 400-yard, $75,000-added Born Runner Classic (R) for Indiana-sired 4-year-olds and older on May 27. Highlights of the track's Quarter Horse stakes slate include the 300-yard, $150,000-added Gordon Mobley Futurity (R) for Indiana-sired 2-year-olds on June 17, and the 350-yard, $150,000 Miss Roxie Little Futurity (R) for Indiana-bred juveniles on October 21.

Indiana Grand will offer live racing on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, beginning at 2:05, and Saturdays beginning at 6:05. Thursday racing will be conducted from July 6-August 24, starting at 2:05. The meet includes six all-Quarter Horse days: June 3, July 8, August 12, September 16, October 7, and October 21.
