INDIANAPOLIS, IN—MAY 5, 2017—The Indiana Horse Racing Commission announced this week their approval for the use of flipping halters for Quarter Horses.

The approval is subject to the following requirements:

  • Trainers must get the approval of the starter for each horse’s use
  • The use of a flipping halter must be declared at the time of entry
  • The use of flipping halters will be noted in the race program
  • All trainers must abide by the starter's requirements, or the use of flipping halters will be discontinued.
