RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JUNE 17, 2017—The annual Family Day celebration just keeps growing every year and it continued that tradition on Sunday afternoon at Ruidoso Downs.

The activities, geared towards kids, are led by the stick-horse races. Children are given a stick horse and they race about 50 yards out of the starting gate.

The activities include tours of the jockeys’ room, the saddling paddock and the Racehorse Hall of Fame.

"We love having the kids come out to the track," said president and general manager Shaun Hubbard. "The stick-horse races are a lot of fun and some of those kids are very serious about winning. But, it’s all about having a fun day at Ruidoso Downs."
