OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—OCTOBER 28, 2017—The Sam Thompson Memorial Foundation Scholarship will once again benefit from the donation of the Pevehouse family, as a 2018 breeding to AQHA Racing Champion 2-Year-Old and All American Futurity(G1) winner Jess Good Candy. The breeding will be auctioned on Friday (Nov. 3) at Heritage Place in Oklahoma City.

This is the second consecutive year that the Pevehouse family has donated the breeding to be auctioned off at Heritage Place. In 2016, the breeding was auctioned off during the second session of the 2016 Heritage Place Yearling to the high-bidder Ben Hudson of TRACK Magazine.

The proceeds will once again benefit the Sam Thompson Memorial Foundation scholarship fund, which just recently announced the 2017-2018 scholarship recipients on Stallionesearch.com (see related story). In total, the foundation distributed $38,000 in scholarships in 2017, as well as $33,000 in 2016.

The multiple grade 1 winner, Jess Good Candy, won 8-of-8 career starts and earned $2,014,703 in two years racing. He also achieved victories in the 2016 Grade 1 Ruidoso Derby, as well as a winner in the Mr Master Bug Handicap at Remington Park as a three-year-old.

Jess Good Candy began his stallion career in 2017 at Lazy E Ranch near Guthrie, Oklahoma. His 2017 fee was $9,500.

The 40th Annual Heritage Place Fall Mixed Sale in Oklahoma City will be held Friday and Saturday, November 3-4.
