Funeral Services Set Friday for Hershel Eugene Cole

SALLISAW, OK—NOVEMBER 2, 2017—Funeral services will be held Friday (Nov. 3) for Hershel Eugene Cole, 80 of Sallisaw. The longtime Oklahoma car dealer and horseman passed away on October 30, 2017 in Sallisaw.

Services will be at 10 am at First Baptist Church in Sallisaw. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc. Visitation is today (Thursday) from 10 am to 8 pm at funeral home in Sallisaw. The family will greet Thursday from 6 to 8 pm. Hershel Eugene Cole was born on August 25, 1937 in Long, Oklahoma to Myrtle M. (Frazier) Cole and Henry Clarence Cole.

He was married to Kay Kerr on July 24, 1963 in Akins, Oklahoma. He was a GMC truck and Automobile Dealer and a member of the Baptist church.

He bred, raised, raced and sold racing Quarter Horses.

Hershel is survived by his wife: Kay of the home a daughter, Teresa "Muffett" Johnson of Midwest City, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren, Kassie Lowe and husband, Brad of Sallisaw, OK and Jeremy Cole Johnson and wife, Cassidy of Harrah, Oklahoma; 4 great grandchildren, Taylor, Alexis, Gavin, and Tristan; a brother J.B. Cole and wife, Nina of Sallisaw, OK numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Myrtle Cole; 3 sisters, Olene Martindale, Theora Powers, and Hazel Tippin; and three brothers, George, Clarence and Richard Cole.

Active Pallbearers will be Darrell Edwards, Jim Breshears, Jim Sparks, Clint Crawford, Rex Brooks, and Ray Whitmire. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leon Richardson and Paula Haraway.
