The New Mexico Horse Breeders' Association will hold its annual business meeting and Zia Awards Banquet in Albuquerque on January 25.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM—JANUARY 10, 2017—The New Mexico Horse Breeders’ Association has set its agenda for its annual business meeting, to be held at the Albuquerque Uptown Marriott Hotel at 2101 Louisiana Blvd. NE on Thursday, January 25.

The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. (MST). Nomination and voting for trustees will begin at 1:30 and will be followed by “breakout sessions” at 2. The topics for the breakout sessions will be foaling, breeding, training, sales prep, and a proposed Triple Crown for New Mexico-bred 3-year-old Thoroughbreds.

A presentation by UC Davis on hair testing will follow at 3. Public comment will be allowed, starting at 3:30.

(Note that only members whose dues have been paid by January 10 will be able to participate in the election of trustees.)

One of the highlights of the annual meeting will be the Zia Awards Banquet, also held at the Albuquerque Uptown Marriott that night. The banquet will begin with a no-host cocktail hour at 6 p.m. and be followed by a dinner and awards banquet starting at 7. Tickets for the awards banquet are priced at $20 per person.
