Neuman To Call Los Alamitos In Place Of Vacationing Ed Burgart

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—FEBRUARY 6, 2019—Bobby Neuman will call the racing action at Los Alamitos Race Course starting this Friday and through Sunday, March 24 in place of Ed Burgart, who is enjoying a well-deserved vacation.

Neuman filled in for Burgart last year and has also been the announcer at Los Alamitos during the track's daytime Thoroughbred meets since September of 2016. A native of Los Angeles who attended UC Santa Barbara before completing the University of Arizona's Race Track Industry Program (RTIP), Neuman was the longtime caller (2005-2014) at Calder Race Course after serving as the paddock host the previous six years at the Miami track.

He began his career calling races on the Arizona Fair circuit and has also served as the track announcer (1997-1999) at Thistledown near Cleveland, Albuquerque, Santa Fe and Standardbred tracks The Red Mile and Pompano Park. He also calls the annual OBS Championship Stakes in Ocala, Fla.

As in previous years, Chris Wade will provide the morning line odds and Pick Four tickets in Ed Burgart's absence, while Jose Contreras will write the race comments on the At A Glance pages in the Night Lines program. Burgart will be back at Los Alamitos starting with the Friday, March 29 racing program. For more info, please call 714-820-2690.
