Ada County Proposes Les Bois Park Site for New Projects

BOISE, ID—NOVEMBER 18, 2019—In a meeting by the Ada County Board of Commissioners (Idaho) November 13th commission president Kendra Kenya said "Horse racing is done."

The commission confirmed that horse racing would no longer be on the table for the site of longtime racetrack Les Bois Park in Bosie, Idaho.

At an administrative meeting on that date, commissioners discussed how the county would use the 240-acre area that houses Expo Idaho, Lady Bird Park, and the now defunct Les Bois Park.

A proposition to bring back "historical racing" machines to the state's racetracks failed in November 2018,

The Idaho Legislature briefly allowed the use of the machines before banning them in 2015 after seeing their similarity to slot machines. Les Bois Park, formerly Idaho’s largest horse-racing venue, shuttered after that.
