Breeders' Cup Weekend And Trials For The Texas Classic Futurity And Derby At Lone Star Park

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—NOVEMBER 06, 2020—You couldn't ask for a better weekend of horse racing at Lone Star Park than we have lined up. Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships will be simulcast live beginning today (Friday) and continue Saturday.

Here are the details for the two days of Breeders' Cup Action:

Friday, November 6 Breeders' Cup Future Stars

  • Bar & Book opens at 9:30AM
  • 2nd floor of Grandstand open from Noon to approximately 5 p.m. to accommodate Bar & Book overflow
  • Keeneland first race at 10:30 a.m.
  • First Breeders' Cup Race at 1:30 p.m.
  • $2,000,000 Breeders' Cup Juvenile at 4:10 p.m.
  • Advance Wagering all day on Keeneland's entire card for Saturday

    Saturday, November 7 Breeders' Cup Championship

    • Bar & Book opens at 8 a.m.
    • 2nd floor of Grandstand open from 10:30 a.m.
    • Keeneland first race at 9:15 a.m.
    • First Breeders' Cup Race at 11:02 a.m.
    • $6,000,000 Breeders' Cup Classic at 4:13 p.m.
    • Lone Star Park Live Quarter Horse Racing at 6:35 p.m.

      After the Breeders' Cup wraps up on Saturday it's time to turn you attention to some super exciting Quarter Horse racing. Races 6-10 on the 11-race card are trials to determine the field for the Grade 1, $400,000 estimated Texas Classic Derby. The 10 fastest horses will get to compete in the final to be held on Saturday, November 28.

      Gates open early Sunday, November 8.

      The trials for this year's Grade 1, $1 million estimated Texas Classic Futurity, the richest race in the state, have 149 2-yr-olds nominated, so to accommodate them all we have split them over 15 trial races with the 10 fastest advancing to the final also to be held on Saturday, November 28. Gates will open early at 3 p.m. First race post time is 4:35 p.m.
