SHELBYVILLE, IN—OCTOBER 25, 2025—Tw Streakin Cowboy, a sorrel gelding by leading sire Flying Cowboy 123 out of Wh Imastreakinbeach by Escondido Beach, turned in a dominant performance to win the $320,750 Governors’ Stakes at Horseshoe Indianapolis on Saturday.
Racing 400 yards against a 9-mph crosswind, the Indiana-bred gelding stopped the clock in 19.367 seconds, earning a 108 speed index over a fast track.
Bred and owned by Thomas Wylie of Ohio, Tw Streakin Cowboy was trained by Natasha Perez and ridden by jockey Diego Villamil Bocanegra.
"I just saw something amazing, " said Wylie in a post-race interview from the winner’s circle with Martha Claussen. "He (TW Streakin Cowboy) did his job today. This horse is special because I bought his mom (WH Imastreakinbeach) from Mr. Morrison. He was going through a tough time after losing his son, and I knew what he was going through as I lost a son also. So, this win, and this horse is special to me. He will be back at three to run."
The two-year-old broke alertly, gained the lead early, and drew clear to win by a length and a half, earning $176,413. Two races back, he won the John Deere Horseshoe Indianapolis Juvenile Challenge Stakes. A winner of three of five career starts, Tw Streakin Cowboy has earned $202,213.
