SHELBYVILLE, IN—OCTOBER 25, 2025—Rock N the Beach proved best in the richest Quarter Horse futurity ever contested at Horseshoe Indianapolis, capturing the $359,600 Miss Roxie Little Futurity(RG3) for state-bred two-year-olds on Saturday afternoon.

The sorrel gelding by leading Indiana stallion Escondido Beach out of Pyc Fast Girls Rock by Pyc Fast Prize, bred and owned by Jeffrey Sheets of Indiana, broke alertly from the inside post and took control early under jockey Rolando Pina.

"I’m pretty excited," said a speechless Sheets. "I just have to thank God for this blessing."

Trained by Tim Eggleston, the Indiana-bred gelding maintained his advantage through the stretch to win by three-quarters of a length, stopping the timer at 19.976 seconds for 400 yards with a 92 speed index.

The performance came over a fast track with a five-mile-per-hour crosswind. Rock N the Beach's victory earned his connections $197,780, marking another major futurity triumph for the Escondido Beach sire line.

Second in the Gordon Mobley Futurity earlier this year, Rock N The Beach has won three of six starts and has earned $259,890.

"We talked about this colt this week because he always acts really good and seems to fly under the radar," said Eggleston, who had qualified three in the Miss Roxie Little Futurity Final. "He looked really good when he broke his maiden and won by open lengths, and it was the same in the trial. We skipped the (QHRAI) SSA Futurity. I didn’t think he drew the best (post one) but then he’s a big colt, standing 16’1 and weighs 1,300 pounds so we thought maybe it would actually work in his favor. When you train the mom (PYC Fast Girls Rock) and she won a few races out here with Natasha (Perez) riding. And she was a little thing that stood 14’2. And now you have her baby win a race like this, it’s pretty awesome."

Cv Denali, a chestnut filly also by Escondido Beach out of Botticelli Shake by Genuine Botticelli, finished second after a strong outside rally. Bred by Sheri Miller and owned by Campos Family Ventures LLC, the filly was ridden by Fernando Morin and trained by Claudio Barraza.

She chased the winner gamely throughout but settled for runner-up honors three-quarters of a length behind, earning $71,920 for the effort. Winner of the Gordon Moble Futurity in July, Cv Denali suffered her first loss in four starts. She has earned $196,110.

Tw No Beach Secrets made it an Escondido Beach tri-fecta. Out of No Secrets Hereither by First Down Dash, the gelding took third for owner and breeder Thomas Wylie.

Trained by Natasha Perez and ridden by Diego Villamil Bocanegra, Tw No Beach Secrets closed steadily to finish three-quarters back, collecting $35,960 for his performance and adding to an impressive showing for Escondido Beach progeny in the Indiana-bred ranks. Winner of the QHRAI SSA Juvenile Stakes in August, he has banked $82,185 in seven starts.

Rock N the Beach returned $16.20 to win, $4.20 to place, and $3.20 to show. Cv Denali paid $3.00 to place and $2.40 to show, while Tw No Beach Secrets returned $3.20 to show.

The order of finish for the Miss Roxie Little Futurity was Rock N the Beach, Cv Denali, Tw No Beach Secrets, Whiskey Beach, Beach Burner, Heza Classy Cowboy, Sizzzling Heart, Queenvn Chic, D Double Deuce, and Jess Shake Baby.

The Miss Roxie Little Futurity (RG3) capped off the most successful Indiana Champions Day in the event's six-year history. A total of $2,765,777 was wagered on the day compared to $2.3 million in 2024.

As the winner of Restricted Grade 3, Miss Roxie Little, the silks of Eggleston will be depicted on the jockey statue outside the winner’s circle. The QHRAI Stallion Service Auction Futurity joins it, also a Restricted Grade 3 event, and two Graded Stakes for Thoroughbred racing, the Indiana Derby and the Indiana Oaks, both Grade 3 events.

Eggleston got his second win in three years in the Miss Roxie Little and his first Graded Stakes victory. He also conditioned Red Headed Beach to victory in 2023.
