CLAREMORE, OK—NOVEMBER 11, 2025—Ivory Macho Man delivered a determined effort to capture the Grade 3 $366,030 Black Gold Futurity Championship for two-year-old colts and geldings on Tuesday afternoon at Will Rogers Downs, his second graded futurity win this year.

Under jockey Bryan Candanosa, the sorrel gelding surged to the front early and held off a hard-charging Effortless Favorite by a nose in a thrilling finish. He completed the 400-yard dash in 19.852 seconds, earning a 95 speed index over a fast track with clear 65-degree weather and a stiff 20-mph crosswind.

Bred and owned by Rito Sosa of Oklahoma, Ivory Macho Man is a son of second-crop sire Kj Mucho Macho Man out of the Ivory James mare Alondra Grace. Trained by Jose Gamez, the winner displayed vigorous speed and refused to yield late, securing the top share of the purse worth $146,412.

The win marked a another highlight in a standout season for the gelding, who won the Grade 2 Dash For Cash Futurity at Lone Star Park last month. Confirming his position among the top Oklahoma-bred juveniles of the year, he has won six of seven starts and earned $355,002.

Effortless Favorite, a bay gelding by leading sire Favorite Cartel out of Swingin Cartel by Corona Cartel, finished a valiant second after a late rally fell just short at the wire.

Ridden by Francisco Ramirez Jr. for trainer Jason Olmstead, Effortless Favorite is owned by the partnership of Tom Maher, Richard L. Tobin, and Bill Maher.

Bred by Wallace Johnson of Oklahoma, the $67,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate collected $62,225 for his runner-up finish, adding to an impressive juvenile campaign. Co-winner of the Grade 1 Heritage Place Futurity and winner of the All American Juvenile last summer, Effortless Favorite has banked $520,033 after six wins in eight starts.

Jess A Good Angel, the post-time favorite, ran a solid race along the rail to finish third under jockey Juan Pulido for owner and trainer Samuel Mendoza. The brown colt by champion Jess Good Candy out of Sin Tachas Angel by Pyc Paint Your Wagon was bred by Cristian Leonardo Alcala of Oklahoma and earned $40,263 for his effort.

The colt maintained his steady form at the stakes level, finishing a half-length behind the runner-up after a good trip inside. Also, third in the Heritage Place Futurity(G1) earlier this year, he has earned $191,220 in only five starts.

Ivory Macho Man paid $10.40 to win, $4.00 to place, and $2.60 to show. Effortless Favorite returned $2.80 to place and $2.20 to show, while Jess a Good Angel paid $2.10 to show.
