Duck Dash N Go Prevails In Super Sound Charge Handicap

CYPRESS, CA—DECEMBER 15, 2019—Duck Dash N Go, a 5-year-old daughter of multiple stakes sire Coronas Fast Dash, held off Rite Quick as the post-time favorite Sunday night, winning the $15,000 Super Sound Charge Handicap by a neck.

Armando Cervantes rode the bay mare over the 300 yards in a quick :15.240 clocking, equaling a 101 speed index. It was the 16th career win in 33 starts for the mare and the $8,250 winners' purse boosted her career mark to $138,674.

Conditioned by trainer Monty Arrossa, the Lex Fabrizio owned Oklahoma-bred entered the Super Sound Charge off an allowance win at Los Alamitos November 17th. Bobby D. Cox bred Duck Dash N Go from the Tour de Kas mare Duck Mea Running.

Rite Quick, a 4-year-old Favorite Cartel gelding, earned $3,375 for his second-place effort. Jesus Ayala rode Rite Quick for trainer Yanet Rodriguez and owner Alberto Rosiles. Steve Burns bred the gray gelding from the Chicks Beduino mare Iba Quick Chick. He has earned $56,0845.

Multiple stakes winner Cm Boom Shakalaka finished three-quarters back to earn $1,875 for third. Luke Lindsey saddled the 4-year-old Carters Cartel gelding for owner Chris Sutton. Randy Dickerson bred Cm Boom Shakalaka in Oregon from the Dash Ta Fame mare Mi Fames A Dandy. He has won nine of 23 starts and earned $114,9347.

Eagles Policy, My Favorite Cartel, One Proud Eagle and First Royal Cartel completed the field.

AQHA Racing World Champion Super Sound Change won 14 of 29 starts and banked $295,052 in three seasons of racing. After quailing for the 1978 All American Futurity at Ruidoso Downs as a 2-year-old, he spent the remainder of his career racing on the West Coast, mostly at Los Alamitos.

The son of Roma Charge, from the Thoroughbred mare Special Sound by Bold Commander, won the five consecutive races at Los Alamitos in 1980 including the Los Alamitos Invitational Championship, Go Man Go Handicap, Vessels Maturity and Chicado V Handicap. In his final career start December 20, 1980 the bay colt was second to champion Lady Juno in the Champion of Champions.

Co-owned by R.D. Hubbard, Super Sound Charge retired and was syndicated to stud. He produced West Texas Futurity(G2) winner Life Styles for Hubbard and Grady Stowe in 1985. Super Sound Charge was bred and foaled in Texas by Duncan Farms and Joe Duncan. Duncan Farms become the setting of Southfork Ranch in the "famed" television series DALLAS in the 80's.
