ALTOONA, IA—SEPTEMBER 4, 2020—Coming off a troubled effort in the John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge final on August 15th, Not A Secret bounced to win the closing trial for the Valley Junction Futurity(G3), setting the top qualifying time Friday night at Prairie Meadows.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from five trial races, will return to Prairie Meadows on Friday, September 25th to vie for the winner's share of a $218,640 350 yard final.

Under jockey Cristian Esqueda, Not A Secret rallied strong in the last trial to defeat Signs Of A Blue Moon by a nose, completing the 350 yards in :17.879 seconds.

Charlton Hunt saddled the son of Hez Our Secret to his third win in seven starts for owner-breeder Michael Teel. Out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Call As Maybe, Not A Secret has earned $20,482.

Thomas Lepic's homebred Signs Of A Blue Moon held on to the second fastest clocking of :17.881 seconds. Jason Olmstead trains the Tres Seis filly out of Signs Of A Pyc by Pyc Paint Your Wagon. Jesus Salazar was aboard.

Paint Me Brown broke her maiden in the fourth trial, under jockey Uriel Cervantes, to record the third-fastest time of :17.917 seconds for owner Porfirio Carrasco. Jose Aguirre trains the Pyc Paint Your Wagon colt out of Brown Eye Suze by Mr Eye Opener. Flag Ranch LLC is the breeder.

John Deere Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge winner Purty Darn Quick raced to his third consecutive win in the opening trial to record the fifth fastest time of :17.996, into a 5 mph crosswind.

John D. Hammes trains the son of multiple stakes sire Jess Louisiana Blue for himself and the Estate of Thomas Bradbury. The Colorado homebred, out of Now Margaret by Pyc Paint Your Wagon, has won three of five starts and earned $42,057.
