Bodacious Denali Wire-to-Wire Winner In $65,745 Rock Springs Wyoming-Bred Futurity

ROCK SPRINGS, WY—SEPTEMBER 5, 2020—Bodacious Denali raced to her third consecutive win today when she defeated fastest qualifier and stablemate Bigg Brown by a neck in the $65,745 Rock Springs Wyoming-Bred Futurity at Sweetwater Downs. Eyesa Special Digger was another neck back in the blanket-finish to take third.

Bodacious Denali broke quickly under jockey Uriel Dominguez and was never headed while completing the 300 yards in :15.570 seconds, equaling a 95 speed index.

Trainer Jordan Hadley saddled the daughter of multiple stakes sire Bodacious Dash to her third win in four starts for owner Trent Woods. Bred by Brooke Black, from the Teller Cartel mare Denali Deception, the sorrel filly picked up $23,011 for today's effort, bringing her total earnings mark to $27,131.

In a late surge from the outside post, fastest qualifier Big Brown finished second under jockey Tyson Lusk. Also trained by Hadley, the son of Choctaw River races for owner-breeder Dan and Kim Lapierre. Bigg Brown, who was third in the Ron Cook Wyoming Bred Futurity in July has won two of four starts this year. The $10,519 second-place payday brings his season earnings total to $19,344. The brown gelding is out of Purrfect Eve by Devon Lane (TB).

Eyesa Special Digger was a game third for owner-breeder Broken Bones Cattle Company and trainer Jesse Villegas. Oscar Cervantes had the riding call aboard the Eyesa Special Slim gelding out of Lil Shameless Angel by Fist N Six. Also a finalist in the Ron Cook, Eyesa Special Digger earned $6,575 today to bring his bankroll to $9,860.

Mark N Diamonds, Separate Creeks, Vvr Velvet Princess, Kcross Packinasixgun, Scarlett Belle, Last Night and Als Dynasty completed the field.
