Oatman Creek Senator Gets First Stakes Win In $100,000 All American Invitational

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—SEPTEMBER 6, 2020—Wootan Racing's homebred Oatman Creek Senator scored his first stakes win on Sunday when he defeated My Fast Prize by half-a-length in the $100,000 All American Invitational, for 3-year-oldl who didn't qualify for the Grade 1 All American Derby.

Under jockey Raul Ramirez, Jr., Oatman Creek Senator took the lead early and held while completing the 440 yards in :21.247 seconds, equaling a 99 speed index with a 5 mph tailwind.

"He ran his best race all summer long," said Ramirez. "We got out-broke by the 6-horse, but then my horse kept getting stronger as the race went on. He should have been in the Derby instead of the consolation, but it is what it is."
