ALBUQUERQUE, NM—SEPTEMBER 20, 2020—The royally-bred Speed Dynasty held off a late charge for Ajs On Time to win the $256,065 La Fiesta Futurity by a nose Sunday afternoon at The Downs at Albuquerque.
Under jockey Duane Sterling, the $150,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate, rolled over the 400 yards in :19.632 seconds, a 91 speed index into a 4 mph crosswind, to get his fourth win in seven starts this year.

Speed Dynasty has compiled a (7) 4-0-1 record and today's winner's purse of $128,032 increased his bankroll to $177,632.
Runner-up Ajs On Time broke out at the start under jockey Albert Medrano to finish a game second, picking up $51,213 for the effort. Jesus Olivas trains the son of leading sire Apollitical Jess for owner Ricardo Ramirez. Spackman Racing bred the sorrel gelding in Idaho from the Corona Cartel mare Coronation Time. He has earned $68,313 in five starts.
Miraculous Kiss, a son of a leading second-crop sire Kiss My Hocks finished another neck back in the blanket finish to earn $30,728 for third. Ivan Tafoya trains the New Mexico-bred colt for owners Vicente Solis and Miguel Castillo. Hubaldo Solis bred Miraculous Kiss from the Chicks A Blazin mare Shes So Blazin. Lightly raced the sorrel colt is winless in three starts this season.
Elphaba, Apolliticalfastprize, Grace Of Monaco, Hateful Rhetoric, This Girls Famous, Wicked Prospect and Ramblin Fox completed the field.
