EVANSTON, WY—JULY 27, 2025—Mv Paint Me Jess delivered a determined performance to capture the $153,700 Ron Cook Wyoming Bred Futurity at Wyoming Downs on Sunday afternoon.

Facing a ten-horse field of top 2-year-old accredited Wyoming-breds, the bay gelding surged late to win the 330-yard feature in a time of 16.908 seconds, earning a 90 speed index while battling a headwind of 8 miles per hour on a fast track.

Bred in Wyoming by Ron and Laurie Moosman, Mv Paint Me Jess is by Jess Paint Me and out of the Separatist mare Separate Encounter. Owned by Eddie Jensen and trained by Jess Matt, the gelding was piloted to victory by jockey Jacob Cardenas. The victory was worth $70,702 to his connections, and he returned $10.80 to win, $6.00 to place, and $4.40 to show.

Runner-up in the $245,800 Energy Downs Futurity last month, Mv Paint Me Jess got his second win five starts today, boosting his bankroll to $111,747.

Longshot A Blazin Bodacious, sent off at 22-1, made a bold run from post four to finish a neck behind the winner. The sorrel gelding is by multiple stakes sire Bodacious Dash out of Blazin Mean, a daughter of First Moonflash.

Bred and owned by Pedro Mena, A Blazin Bodacious is trained by Kylie Valenzuela and was ridden by Edwin Escobedo. Still a maiden after four starts, he collected $30,740 for the runner-up effort.

Another half-length back in third was Dontimakeitlookeasy, a bay colt by second-crop sire Gold Heart Eagle V out of the Corona Cartel mare Better Be Diamonds. Bred by Hallie Noland and racing for Charismatic Racing, the colt is also trained by Kylie Valenzuela. Jockey Jose Olivo guided him to a third-place finish was worth $15,370, bringing his total to more than $23,000 from five starts.

The order of finish behind the top three included In the Vee in fourth, Miss Pollys Train fifth, Flying Rocco sixth, Sixs Cb Blakely seventh, Pappas Eagle eighth, Kcross Lever Action ninth, and Jess Checkem Out tenth.
