Mr Booombastic proved his race favorite status from the start. The two-year-old sorrel son of leading first-crop aire Dulce Sin Tacha powered out of the gate for Munoz and used a big stride from the first jump. Midway through the race, something clicked in Mr Boombastic as he took a short lead.

The late closers moved in during the final strides of the 350-yard dash, but their efforts couldn’t even come close to Mr Booombastic, who won by three-quarters of a length over Caelus and Diego Villamil, who closed for second on the outside. Mr Blood Carver held his ground for third along the inside.

Mr Booombastic is owned by Carlos Ramos and trained by Ricardo Martinez. Bred by Mr. and Mrs. Judd Morse in Oklahoma, he is out of Dancing Iam by Apollo TB.
