GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—SEPTEMBER 30, 2019—Nine fillies and mares, headed by 8-5 morning-line favorite Jess Adalida, have been entered in Saturday's 400-yard, $17,500 ARC Lone Star Distaff Challenge at Lone Star Park.
Trained by Josue Ponce for owner Ruben Garcia Montemayor, Jess Adalida enters the race off of back-to-back stakes wins in the French Quarter and Selma Stakes. She is also the defending Lone Star Distaff Challenge winner after posting a three-length win in 2018.
The sorrel daughter of champion Jess Louisiana Blue has earned $170,118 from 17 starts, and her resume includes wins in the John Deere Retama Juvenile Challenge Stakes at Retama Park at 2.
Jess Adalida drew the 4 post and will be ridden by Victor Urieta, Jr.

The ARC Lone Star Distaff Challenge is one of 10 regional Challenge races scheduled throughout the year at various North American racetracks. It offers automatic berths to the Grade 1, $100,000-est. Distaff Challenge Championship which is part of the Bank of America Challenge Championships at The Downs at Albuquerque on October 26.
The Distaff Challenge is race 11 on the 12-race lineup. Approximate post time is 10:45 p.m.
