EVANSTON, WY–JUNE 11, 2022–Making his first start since a fifth-place finish in the $100,000 AQHA Distance Challenge Championship(G1) last fall, graded stakes winner Dance The Dust Off posted the fastest qualifying time from two trials contested today for the Wyoming Downs Distance Challenge at Wyoming Downs.

The distance trial qualifiers will return to the Evanston, Wyoming oval on Saturday, June 25th in hopes of taking the winner's share of a $25,000-added purse and also punching their ticket for a spot in the 2022 $100,000-est. Grade 1 Cox Ranch Distance Challenge Championship Saturday October 22nd at Horseshoe Indianapolis in Shelbyville, Indiana.

With a big run under jockey Nakia Teeter, Dance The Dust Off defeated Mahoney N Tacklebery by one-length while stopping the timer in :45.433 seconds, a 96 speed index into a 10 mph crosswind for 870 years.

Racing for Scott Warr and trainer Clay Teeter, Dance The Dust Off is a Grade 3 winning son of Coronas Blackdiamond out of the Chazi thoroughbred mare Magic Yard. He has compiled a (18) 6-4-0 record and banked $63,900.

Sarah E Donaldson Rioux bred last year's Will Rogers Downs Distance Challenge(G3) winner in New Mexico.

Runner-up Mahoney N Tacklebery, a stakes winning son of leading sire Favorite Cartel, held on to the second fastest time of :45.601, a 94 speed index.

Trainer Riley Moosman named jockey Jesus Valenzuela to ride the Utah-bred 8-year-old for owner Ben Peterson. Bred by Spencer Peterson from the Jess Louisiana Blue mare Fountain Blue, Mahoney N Tacklebery has won 14 times and earned $231,6770.
