Stakes Winner Ms Flaming Finish Returns in John Deere Arizona Juvenile Challenge Trials
BY MICHAEL CUSORTELLI
PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ–JULY 7 2022–Ms Flaming Finish, a stakes-winning California-bred daughter of champion Mr Jess Perry, is one of 22 2-year-olds entered in Saturday's 350-yard John Deere Arizona Juvenile Challenge trials at Arizona Downs.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the July 30, $60,000-added final. The winner of the final will land a berth in the October 22 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship (G2) at Horseshoe Indianapolis.
Ms Flaming Finish is coming off of a neck victory in the 300-yard, $48,000 Crush The Curve Futurity at Pocatello Downs on May 22. A $37,000 yearling purchase at last year's Los Alamitos Equine Sale, the filly is trained by Javier Duarte for owner LG Racing LLC.
Ms Flaming Finish drew post 7 and will be ridden by Martin Osuna in the first of three trials.
Renegade Racing's Arrogance, a gelded son of Five Bar Cartel and an $18,500 purchase at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City, will be stretching out in distance off of his three-quarter length victory in a 300-yard, $5,000 maiden-special-weight dash at Wyoming Downs on June 11. Lin Melton trains the gelding, who has earned $3,000 from two races.
Arrogance drew the rail post and will be ridden by Kevin Carbajal in the third heat.
