SHAKOPEE, MN–JULY 22, 2024–Fox News, a graded-stakes winning 4-year-old champion of champion FDD Dynasty racing for Tom Maher of Pierre, South Dakota, is one of five fillies and mares entered in Thursday's 400-yard, $35,904 Cox Ranch Canterbury Distaff Challenge Stakes (G3) at Canterbury Park.
The 8-5 morning-line favorite, Fox News is coming off of a Remington Park spring campaign during which the homebred mare earned $5,631 from three races and ran third, three-quarters of a length behind winner Alliekat Dynasty, in the 350-yard, $50,000 Decketta Stakes (G2) on March 16.
Fox News has banked $187,996 from 20 starts, and her eight wins include a a three-quarter length victory in last year's 400-yard, $155,000 Adequan Derby Challenge Championship (G3) at Lone Star Park.
Fox News drew post 3 and will be ridden by Ramiro Garcia for trainer Jason Olmstead.
The winner of this race will earn a berth in this year's Grade 1, 400-yard Cox Ranch Distaff Challenge Championship at Albuquerque Downs. The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments and morning-line odds:
