PHOENIX, AZ—NOVEMBER 27, 2019—Fifteen 3-year-olds, topped by recent stakes winner Unrestrained, are entered in Sunday’s 400-yard AQRA Turf Paradise Derby trials at Turf Paradise.
A sorrel son of Kiddy Up owned and trained by Rigoberto Guillen, Unrestrained is coming off of a nose victory as the odds-on favorite in the November 3, 350-yard AQRA President’s Fall Derby. The California-bred gelding has earned $88,123 from 14 starts, of which $72,913 has been banked from eight outs this season.
Unrestrained drew post 6 and will be ridden by Joseph Belloc Jr. in the first of two trials.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the December 22, $15,000-added AQRA Turf Paradise Derby final.
