This Champion Of Champions Has It All On Saturday Night

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—DECEMBER 13, 2019—The 47th running of the Champion of Champions has it all. A dominant older horse at the top of his game. Yes, in BH Lisas Boy as he goes for his third Grade 1 stakes race of the year.

Superstar fillies ready to show the boys who's the best? Yes, in the millionaire Flash And Roll and the outstanding Tequila Sangria. How about a former champion looking for another unforgettable moment?

Yes in Zoomin For Spuds, who first won this race in 2016. A horse who has done it all except for winning the Champion of Champions? Yes, in the millionaire warrior He Looks Hot. How about some invaders looking to make a big splash in Southern California? Yes, in Grade 1 winner Mi Amor Secreto and the terrific mare As And Js.

Plus, the race will also feature seasoned stars capable of winning on any day like Katies Easy Moves, Jesstacartel, and Hotstepper.

Best of all, the Champion of Champions will have an unforgettable race call regardless of who wins, as the incomparable Ed Burgart will call this prestigious race for the final time before his retirement on Sunday night. Talk about goosebumps for every second of this race.

The horses to beat are Bill Hoburg's BH Lisas Boy and Scott Bryant's Flash And Roll, as they both enter the Champion of Champions after tremendous victories. Ridden by 18-year-old Oscar Andrade, BH Lisas Boy won the Grade 1 Go Man Go Handicap and the Grade 1 Robert Boniface Los Alamitos Invitational Championship in his last two outings.

"He's done everything right, and now he'll go out there one more time and hopefully he's the best horse on Saturday night," said Hoburg of BH Lisas Boy.

Similar to the NFL draft, Los Alamitos allows the connections of each horse the opportunity to select their post positions based on a previously assigned random order. With the third selection trainer Justin Joiner chose post number four for Flash And Roll. "She's won the Golden State Futurity, Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity, and the Los Alamitos Super Derby from post four. Which post would you have picked?"

One thing is for sure, this event promises to be one of the races of the year in Quarter Horse racing with a tremendous cast of superstars for Ed Burgart's final Champion of Champions.
