40 To Race In Los Alamitos Maiden Stakes On Sunday
PCQHRA Breeders' Futurity(G2) finalist Loose On Katella will start in Sunday's $109,500 Los Alamitos Maiden Stakes trials.

40 To Race In Los Alamitos Maiden Stakes On Sunday

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—JANUARY 25, 2020—Nine horses with stakes experience are among the 40 runners that will be in action in the trials to the $109,500 Los Alamitos Maiden Stakes on Sunday at Los Alamitos.

Eight races are on tap with the final five races on the card serving as the Maiden Stakes trials.

The horses with the 10 fastest times in the trials will advance to the Maiden Stakes final on Sunday, February 16. Horses are eligible to race in the trials if they’re maidens as of December 1, 2019. There are nine horses that have won since the cutoff date of December 1.

The list of winners includes Kolleen Ledgerwood’s Come Forth, who scored a come-from-behind neck victory on December 27, and Ed Allred’s Bono Is Good, who scored a solid head win on January 3. The two will face off in the in the first of five trials on Sunday and are among the nine runners in these trials with stakes experience. They both ran in the Governor’s Cup Futurity on July 27.

Other major futurity qualifiers in the trials are Lex Fabrizio’s Loose On Katella, who finished fourth in the Grade 2 PCQHRA Breeders Futurity, and Santos Montemayor and Daniel Sedano’s Leonel Bugatti, who competed in the Grade 2 Robert Adair Kindergarten Futurity. Leonel Bugatti will race in the second trial, while Loose On Katella will see action in the fifth and final trial.
