SELMA, TX—AUGUST 10, 2020—Pete A. Scarmardo’s His Time To Deal, an undefeated homebred son of the Game Patriot stallion Dealagame, is one of 81 2-year-olds entered in Friday’s 350-yard TQHA Sires’ Cup Futurity (RG3) at Retama Park.

His Time To Deal has earned $32,929 from two races, and his two wins include a 1 3/4-length victory in the 350-yard, $61,000 John Deere Retama Juvenile Challenge (G3) on July 25. The gelding drew post 9 and will be ridden by Jose Vega for trainer Leon Bard in the third of nine trials.

Other prominent 2-year-olds entered in Friday’s trials include Card One Starter, a stakes-placed Docs Best Card gelding trained by Alonso Neri for owner Jose E. Guzman. Card One Starter will be stretching out in distance off of his second-place finish in the 330-yard, $151,000 Old South Futurity at Delta Downs on July 4.

Card One Starter drew post 6 and will be ridden by Victor Urieta Jr. in the ninth heat.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the August 29, $75,000-added TQHA Sires’ Cup Futurity final.
