RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—August 18, 2020—Bobby D. Cox’s Ratification, a homebred daughter of world champion Apollitical Jess, is one of 34 3-year-old fillies entered in Sunday’s 440-yard All American Oaks trials at Ruidoso Downs.

Ratification has won all three of her starts during the current Ruidoso meet, including the inaugural running of the 440-yard, $316,000 Rainbow Oaks on July 18. The filly drew the rail post and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon for trainer John Buchanan in the second of four trials.

Rainbow Oaks runner-up Valiant Astica drew post 9 and will be ridden by Noe Garcia Jr. in the third heat. A $45,000 purchase at the 2018 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, the filly is a daughter of Valiant Hero and 2015 champion 3-year-old filly Astica. She has earned $164,491 from 12 outs, was a finalist in last year’s $1-million Rainbow Futurity (G1), and she is trained by Fred Danley for owners J & SM Inc. and Jimmy Childs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the inaugural running of the $300,000-est. All American Oaks on September 6.
