16 Nominated To Go Man Go Handicap To Be Held On August 30
Three-time AQHA Racing World Champion Go Man Go is one of Quarter Horse racing’s all-time greats.

16 Nominated To Go Man Go Handicap To Be Held On August 30

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—AUGUST 15, 2020—Sixteen top older horses have been nominated to the Grade 1, $100,000 Go Man Go Handicap to be held at Los Alamitos next Sunday, August 30.

The race is named in honor of one Quarter Horse racing’s all-time greats and the AQHA World Champion in three consecutive year from 1955 to 1957. Ten horses will race in the 400-yard Go Man Go final. Here is a brief look at each of the 16 horses nominated: 

  • Alamode — Has been a model of consistency having finished in the money in all eight of his starts this year. He won the Mr Jet Moore Handicap and was second in the Kaweah Bar Handicap and Sprint Stakes.

  • Bail Czech — The 4-year-old gelding won the Restricted Grade 1 Spencer Childers California Breeders Championship on July 25 and was fifth in the Vessels Maturity. He has been a part of nine stakes races in his career.

  • Chicks Fayvorite — The 7-year-old gelding has competed in 18 stakes races during his very durable career. He was second in the First Down Dash Handicap and Sprint Stakes in 2017.

  • Chocolatito — Has won three of four races in 2020 including the Grade 1 Vessels Maturity and the Kaweah Bar. He won the Dillingham Handicap and second in the PCQHRA Breeders Derby last year.

  • Corona Jumpin MRL — The aged stallion ran second in the Brad McKinzie Los Alamitos Winter Championship after winning his trial to that race. He was third in last year’s First Down Dash Handicap.

  • Jess Macho Corona — Was second to Chocolatito in the Vessels Maturity on July 5. He was fourth in the Brad McKinzie earlier this year. He was second in the 2019 All American Derby and 2018 Golden State Million Futurity.

  • Jesstacartel — Has not raced since last year’s Champion of Champions. He was second in the Champion of Champions in 2018. He also won the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Super Derby and Grade 2 Golden State Derby.

  • Mister Appolitical — Won his trial to the Vessels Maturity and then ran third in the final. He won the Grade 2 Southern California Derby and Grade 3 PCQHRA Breeders Derby last year.

  • Powerful Favorite — Had a great season in 2019, winning seven of eight starts including three derbies led by the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Winter Derby. Qualified to the Vessels Maturity but did not race in the final.

  • Red Hawk Cartel — The 4-year-old colt won an allowance event on August 15 and has raced in nine stakes races. He won the Freshman Stakes in 2018 and was second in last year’s Los Alamitos Winter Derby.

  • Rite Quick — He’s ultra-quick and is the track record holder at 100 and 110 yards. Won the Independence Day Handicap in his last start.
  • Symbol Of Faith — The only filly nominated to the Go Man Go has not raced since running fifth in the Southern California Derby on December 13.

  • Tools In The Sky — Raced in the All American Derby and was 5th in the Zia Park Championship last year and 3rd in this year’s Spencer Childers.

  • Transcend — He finished second to Bail Czech in the Spencer Childers in his last start and was third in last year’s PCQHRA Breeders Derby. He ran in the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity in 2018.

  • Yanque — Finished fourth in the Spencer Childers in his last outing and before that scored three consecutive stakes victories at 550 yards. Like stablemates Chicks Fayvorite and Red Hawk Cartel, Yanque has a ton of stakes racing experience with 19 such appearances during his career.

  • Zoomin For Spuds — Won the 2016 Champion of Champions and has 11 stakes victories at Los Alamitos in his distinguished career. Won the Brad McKinzie last year and the Vessels Maturity in 2018. Has not raced since last year’s Champion of Champions.
