Wyoming-Bred Stakes Doubleheader Set for Saturday at Sweetwater Downs

ROCK SPRINGS, WY—SEPTEMBER 3, 2020—Two state-bred stakes, topped by the 300-yard, $25,000 Rock Springs Wyoming-Bred Futurity (R), headline Saturday’s 10-race program at Sweetwater Downs.

Fastest qualifier Bigg Brown, a homebred gelding by the Mr Jess Perry stallion Choctaw River owned by Dan Lapierre and Kim Lapierre, drew post 10 and will be ridden by Tyson Lusk for trainer Jordan Hadley. The fastest qualifier, Bigg Brown is coming off of a three-quarter length victory in the fifth of six trials on August 23.

Bigg Brown has earned $8,825 from three outs, and his record includes a third-place finish in the 330-yard, $54,000 Ron Cook Wyoming-Bred Futurity (R) at Wyoming Downs on July 26.

The 8-5 morning-line favorite, Dustin Stanger’s Brash And Sassy brings in a four-race win streak that includes a neck victory as the 2-1 favorite in the 350-yard, $33,000 K.C. Carden Wyoming-Bred Derby (R) at Wyoming Downs on August 1. The daughter of the Dash Ta Fame stallion Conn Creek drew post 5 and will be ridden by Oscar Cervantes for trainer Riley Moosman.
