GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—SEPTEMBER 8, 2020—Gilbert Pacheco III’s Trump My Record and David Gutierrez’s A Painted Dynasty are among the 35 3-year-olds entered in Saturday’s 440-yard Dash For Cash Derby (G2) trials at Lone Star Park.
Trump My Record boasts a five-race win streak and is coming off of a one-length victory as the 2-5 favorite in the 400-yard, $201,000 Firecracker Derby at Delta Downs on August 15. The gelded son of Apollitical Blood won three graded stakes during his 2-year-old campaign, and his three wins in four outs at Lone Star Park include a half-length score in last year’s 400-yard, $905,000 Texas Classic Futurity (G1).
Trump My Record drew post 3 and will be ridden by Eddie Sanchez for trainer Jose Luis Sanchez III in the first trial.
A Painted Dynasty is a son of champion FDD Dynasty trained by Alonso Neri. The bay colt will be stretching out in distance off of his half-length victory as the 3-5 favorite in the 400-yard, $57,000 Adequan Retama Derby Challenge Stakes on July 25.
A Painted Dynasty drew post 9 and will be ridden by Victor M. Urieta Jr. in the second heat.
