GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—NOVEMBER 23, 2020—Five stakes, topped by Texas’ richest horse race, are on tap when Lone Star Park closes out its 2020 fall meet with a 12-race program on Saturday.

Ten 2-year-olds are entered back in Saturday’s 400-yard, $1,031,211 Texas Classic Futurity (G1). Jose E. Guzman’s Instygator, an earner of $579,041 from six races, drew post 4 and will be ridden by James Flores for trainer Santos Carrizales Jr.

The fastest qualifier, Instygator made his local debut with a half-length victory in the eighth of 15 trials on November 8. The Ivory James gelding is coming off of a summer campaign during which he ran second, a neck behind winner Whistle Stop Cafe, in the 440-yard, $3-million All American Futurity (G1) at Ruidoso Downs on September 7.

Other contenders include Dulce Sin Tacha, a stakes-placed son of Jess Good Candy trained by Heath Taylor for owners Bob and Jerry Gaston. Dulce Sin Tacha has won four of five starts and has banked $59,514, and his record includes a second-place finish, a neck behind winner Eye Work For You, in the September 7, 440-yard All American Juvenile Invitational Stakes at Ruidoso Downs.

Dulce Sin Tacha drew post 9 and will be ridden by Rodrigo Vallejo.

The Texas Classic Futurity is the state’s richest horse race. The complete lineup, in post position order including jockey assignments:

Also on Saturday, multiple Grade 1 finalists KJ Mucho Macho Man and Jess Sumokin Hot are among the 10 sophomores entered back in the 440-yard, $393,210 Texas Classic Derby (G1). KJ Mucho Macho Man and Jess Sumokin were both finalists in this year’s All American (G1) and Rainbow (G1) derbies at Ruidoso Downs. A son of world champion Apollitical Jess trained by Wes Giles for owners John Lee, Wanda Kathy Lee, and I. Ruben Mares, KJ Mucho Macho Man has won three of eight starts and has earned $119,592 this season.

KJ Mucho Macho Man drew post 5 and will be ridden by Alan Hernandez.

Jess Sumokin races for Paragon Farms LLC from the barn of trainer Blane Wood. The gelded son of Apollitical Jess has won three of seven outs and has banked $113,171 this year.

Jess Sumokin drew post 10 and will be ridden by Ricky Ramirez.

Three other stakes will be contested at Lone Star Park on Saturday. Clyde Woerner’s Gone To Be A Princess, a homebred 7-year-old daughter of Gone To The Mountain trained by Brad Bolen, drew post 8 for Saturday’s 870-yard, $54,890 Battle of The Breeds Stakes for Quarter Horses, Thoroughbreds, Paints, and Appaloosas. Gone To Be A Princess is coming off of a wire-to-wire, two-length victory in an 870-yard races for $7,500 claimers at Lone Star on November 14. The mare drew post 8 and will be ridden by Alejandro Medina.

Hes Innocent, a Hes Relentless colt owned by Priscilla Rodriguez and a $22,000 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale, drew post 7 for Saturday’s 400-yard, $54,274 Texas Classic Juvenile Stakes (R). Hes Innocent has banked $197,858 from four races this season, and his three wins include a neck victory in the 350-yard, $371,000 Firecracker Futurity (G1) at Delta Downs on August 15. The colt drew post 7 and will be ridden by Manuel Gutierrez for trainer Martin Trejo.

A dozen distaffers are entered in Saturday’s 400-yard, $25,000 Paragon Oaks. Jo Rice’s Southard Queen, a two-time stakes winner during the 2020 Prairie Meadows meet, drew post 12 and will be ridden by Berkley Packer for trainer Jason Olmstead. A homebred 3-year-old daughter of Coronado Cartel, the filly scored a one-length victory in the 400-yard, $134,000 Altoona Derby on September 25.
