VINTON, LA—MAY 18, 2021—A total of 134 state-bred 2-year-old fillies, headed by graded stakes winner KK Sandra Patriot, are entered in Friday’s 330-yard Louisiana Breeders’ Lassie Futurity (RG2) trials at Delta Downs.

Fourteen heats will be contested, starting at 1 p.m. (CDT). The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the June 12, $75,000-added Lassie Futurity final.

A daughter of Game Patriot trained by Adrian Huitron for owner Ruse Ranch LLC, KK Sandra Patriot will be making her first start since March 27, when the brown filly scored a neck victory in the 300-yard, $350,000 Mardi Gras Futurity (RG2) for state-bred juveniles at Louisiana Downs. KK Sandra Patriot has earned $158,676 from two outs.

KK Sandra Patriot drew post 4 and will be ridden by Nestor Duran in the ninth trial.

Juan M. Montoya’s Jess Dash Fast, the runner-up to KK Sandra Patriot in the Mardi Gras Futurity, drew post 2 and will be ridden by Jorge J. Garcia for trainer Richard G. Washington in the fifth heat. A $21,500 purchase at last year’s LQHBA Yearling Sale, the daughter of Heza Fast Dash is a maiden but has banked $60,691 from two starts, both at Louisiana Downs.
