One of three starters for trainer Monty Arrossa, In Hott Pursuit drew post 6 in the 350 yard final.

A brother to AQHA Racing Champion Hotstepper ($1,416,516) and half-brother to Ruidoso Derby(G1) winner Hotsempting ($674,793), In Hott Pursuit enters the Ed Burke final off the third fastest qualifying time from the May 30th trials.

Jockey Armando Cervantes rode the son of leading sire One Famous Eagle to a two-length win the 5th trial while completing the 350 yards in :17.663 seconds, equaling a 91-speed index.

The $220,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate broke his maiden in his career debut at Los Alamitos May 1st. Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches LP bred In Hott Pursuit in Texas from the Tres Seis mare Pandorum.

Fastest qualifier Golden Boi (7/2) will start from post 8 for owner-breeder M&G Farms, Inc. The son of leading sire Favorite Cartel won his trial by a half-length with a time of :17.627, good enough to edge Black Coffeee's second fastest qualifying time of :17.640.

Jockey Ruben Lozano will be back aboard the two-time winner for trainer Valentin Zamudio. He is out of the Corona Cartel mare Coronas Fast Honey.

The aforementioned Black Coffeee (9/2), an undefeated California-bred son of Favorite Cartel, will start from post 2. Jockey Jairo Rangel will back aboard the two-time winner for owner's Guadalupe Bujanda, Jose Flores and Silver Racing Farm LLC. Flores trains the gelding who was bred by Silver Racing Farms LLC.

Flores will also saddle Eye On The Sky, Sweet Dasha Fire and Chizum. Arrossa will also send out Motiveightedand Hallelujah Nights.
