SELMA, TX–JUNE 28, 2022–Onthewingsofaneagle, a stakes-winning One Famous Eagle filly owned by War Eagle Racing and Sandy Coleman, is the early favorite for Friday's 330-yard, $40,000 La Villita Stakes (R) for Texas-bred 3-year-old fillies at Retama Park.

Trained by Patrick Clemons, Onthewingsofaneagle is shortening in distance off of her clear 1 3/4-length victory in the June 4, 350-yard John Buchanan Memorial Stakes (R) at Sam Houston Race Park. The filly has earned $53,872 from just four outs in two states, including Oklahoma.

Onthewingsofaneagle drew post 4 and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon.

Also on Friday, eight state-bred 3-year-olds are entered in the 330-yard, $40,000 Silver Eagle Stakes (R).

Josefina Guzman's The Cartels Cadillac, a gelded son of champion Carters Cartel trained by Juan Diaz Jr., drew post 8 and will be ridden by Victor Urieta Jr. The Cartels Cadillac is coming off of a half-length victory in the June 4, 350-yard Leon Bard Memorial Stakes (R) at Sam Houston Race Park.
