SHELBYVILLE, IN–OCTOBER 11 2022–
Nine aged Indiana-breds, topped by recent stakes winner Stone Lake, are entered in Wednesday's 400-yard, $83,500 Hoosier Park Classic Stakes (R) at Horseshoe Indianapolis.

A 4-year-old son of the Corona Cartel stallion Escondido Beach owned and trained by Tony Cunningham, Stone Lake is coming off of an upset victory at odds of 11-1 in the September 3, 400-yard Bob Woodward Memorial Classic Stakes (R) for state-breds. The chestnut gelding has earned $65,125 from five races this season, all at Horseshoe Indianapolis.

Stone Lake drew post 3 and will be ridden by Luz D. Martinez.

Randy Smith, the meet's leading Quarter Horse trainer, will send out four contenders, including Beach Blast, a 4-year-old Escondido Beach gelding racing for owner Keith Bode and Deborah Smith. Beach Blast is coming off of a third-place run as the 7-10 favorite, a half of a length behind Stone Lake, in the Bob Woodward Memorial.

Beach Blast drew the rail post and will be ridden by Juan D. Marquez.
