Texas Classic Futurity Trials Set for Thursday, Friday at Lone Star Park
Multiple graded stakes winner Tres Crystals will head a bevy of graded stakes winners set to contest Thursday's opening night of two-days of trials for the $1,209,172 Grade 1 Texas Futurity at Lone Star Park.

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX–OCTOBER, 2022–
A total of 152  2-year-olds are entered in this week's Texas Classic Futurity (G1) trials at Lone Star Park.

Nine 400-yard heats will be contested on Thursday and Friday. The five fastest qualifiers from each night's trials will meet in the $1,209,172 final on November 19.

Thursday's trials are headed by graded stakes winners Tres Crystals, One Fine V, and PYC Avenue. A gelded son of Tres Seis and a $30,000 purchase by owner Elizabeth Logan at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale, Tres Crystals won all five of his starts at Remington Park last spring, including the 300-yard, $441,000 Oklahoma Futurity (G2) in March, and the 350-yard, $1.112-million Heritage Place Futurity (G1) in May.

Tres Crystals drew the rail post and will be ridden by Bryan Candanosa for trainer Dee Keener in Thursday's fourth heat.

One Fine V is a daughter of One Famous Eagle trained by Roberto Madrigal for owners Jose Maria Garza and Mario H. Vazquez. A $17,500 buy at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale, the filly has earned $298,810 from six races, and his three wins include a clear 1 1/2-length victory in the July 9, $306,000 Firecracker Futurity (G2) at Delta Downs.

One Fine V drew post 9 and will be ridden by Raul Ramirez Jr. in Thursday's fourth trial.

Pyc Avenue is a homebred son of Pyc Fun N Fancy racing for Josefina Guzman from the barn of trainer Santos Carrizales Jr. The gelding has won all four of his outs, including the April 16, $974,000 Remington Park Futurity (RG1) for Oklahoma-breds, and he has banked $304,221.

Pyc Avenue drew post 5 and will be ridden by Juan Pulido in Thursday's ninth heat.

Friday's trials are highlighted by the entries of One Perfect Lady and Rock A Jess V. One Perfect Lady is coming off of a one-length victory in the 400-yard, $426,000 Dash For Cash Futurity (G1) at Lone Star Park on October 1. Rolando Almanza trains the homebred daughter of the Corona Cartel stallion Bogart for owner La Feliz Montana Ranch LLC.

One Perfect Lady drew post 8 and will be ridden by Francisco Calderon in Friday's sixth heat.

Rock A Jess V will be shortening in distance off of his neck victory as the 3-2 favorite in the September 5, 440-yard All American Juvenile Invitational Stakes at Ruidoso Downs. The homebred Apollitical Jess gelding races for Valeriano Racing Stables LLC and is trained by Santos Carrizales Jr.

Rock A Jess V drew post 2 and will be ridden by Juan Pulido in Friday's second trial.

The Texas Classic Futurity is annually the state's richest horse race for any breed. The winner's share of this year's final is $538,081.
