Ten Juvenile Fillies Entered Back in Rich $381,695 Black Gold Oaks Championship

CLAREMORE, OK–NOVEMBER 13, 2022–
Ten 2-year-old fillies, headed by multiple stakes winner and co-fastest qualifier Cartel Kisses, are entered back in Tuesday's 400-yard, Black Gold Oaks Championship (RG3) at Will Rogers Downs.

The $381,695 Black Gold Oaks Championship (RG3) is the richest filly race in the nation for juvenile fillies.

A brown daughter of Kiss My Hocks trained by Heath Taylor for owners Larry L. Rice and Bobbie Rice, Cartel Kisses is coming off of a 1 1/4-length victory in the seventh of eight trials on October 30. The filly has earned $159,067 from nine races, and her seven wins include the May 28, 350-yard Easy Jet Stakes (RG3) for Oklahoma-breds at Remington Park, and the July 24, 400-yard Rainbow Juvenile Invitational Stakes at Ruidoso Downs.

Cartel Kisses was a $50,000 purchase at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The filly drew post 3 and will be ridden by Rodrigo Vallejo.

Ken O'Brien's Candys Special Power, a daughter of Power Jam (TB) was the co-fastest qualifier for the Black Gold Oaks in her career deubut October 30. Jockey Agustin Silva will be back in the saddle for trainer Jesus Ruiz. The Louisiana-bred filly has drawn post 2 and will start beside co-fastest qualifier Cartel Kisses.
